Heather Burke is the Director of Investor Relations at Mission Driven Finance where she leads the San Diego-based impact investing firm’s initiatives to connect investors to innovative impact investment opportunities that deliver consistent social and financial returns. Heather is a social innovation and development strategist with 14 years of experience designing, financing, and leading innovative public-private humanitarian, CSR, and international development projects across 15 countries. Most recently, for ten years, Heather led corporate social innovation and government relations for Project Belize–PwC’s sixteen-million-dollar Clinton Global Initiative commitment in Belize. Heather established a data-driven business case for PwC’s Belize youth education investment, and designed entrepreneurship-focused programs, curricula, and tools that the Belize Ministry of Education scaled nationally to equip youth with 21st century skills.
Heather is the Co-Founder of girltank—a nonprofit recognized by Toyota and the Women in the World Summit as a “Mother of Invention” for the advancement of female social entrepreneurship. Heather received her M.A. at Johns Hopkins SAIS, where she was an Abraaj Global Policy Fellow whose research emphasized private investment and innovation in emerging markets, and ecosystems for growth-oriented, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). She is fluent in French and proficient in Spanish.
