Benjamin Mendoza

COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE NINTH COUNCIL DISTRICT, CITY OF SAN DIEGO

Ben is passionate about supporting and facilitating leadership and identity development work. Ben uses the “they/them/their” pronouns and is a tireless advocate for an intersectional approach to justice. They also dedicate much of their time to volunteering, currently working with San Diego Pride, San Diego Trans Coalition, and numerous other civic engagement initiatives.

Formerly from Seattle, WA, Ben moved to San Diego in 2013 and received their Masters degree in Higher Education Leadership from the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Studies (SOLES). They received their Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Seattle University.
